How to follow up on a signing request.

A status is a starting point for a useful next action, not a reason to send the same reminder repeatedly.

01

Start in agreement details

Check the current state and the individual recipients. A viewed signing page does not mean the person has agreed to the document, and an unsigned request may simply need more review time.

02

Check the destination

If the invitation went to the wrong email address, use the correction action available for an unsigned recipient. Review the replacement address before applying the change.

03

Choose the appropriate next action

Use a resend when the recipient needs the invitation again. If they have questions about the content, address those directly. If the document itself must change, follow the appropriate preparation process rather than asking someone to sign an outdated copy.

04

Finish with the record

Once the agreement is completed, keep the final PDF and the available activity record together. Consistent document names make future searches easier.

Keep this in mind

The best follow-up responds to what the recipient actually needs.
